－日錫友好交流協会とは　~introduction~

日本とスリランカとの歴史は古く、紀元前２００年頃仏教が我が国に伝わった のは、スリランカからと言われています。また、第二次世界大戦後、世界で一番 早く日本と公に外交関係を結んだ国はスリランカでした。このように、両国は、 2,200年以上にわたる交流関係で結ばれております。 　スリランカは、伝統的な米と3大プランテーション作物（紅茶・ゴム・ココナ ッツ）を中心とした産物がありました。現在は、農業依存型経済から製造業や 卸・小売業等が拡大し、最近では衣類製品が最大の輸出品目となっています。 サービス業も堅調に推移しており、過去５年間の（2004~2008年）のＧＤＰ平均 成長率は6.4％、2008年は6.0%と高い成長率を記録しています。高い教育水準や 良質な労働力を背景に輸出が拡大し、海外からの直接投資も着実に拡大しています。 このような経済発展を遂げるスリランカと、民間の立場での親睦、観光、文化産業等の交流が 益々盛んにすることを目的として「日錫友好交流協会」の活動を致しております。

Sri Lanka has a long history with Japan, Buddhism introduced into Japan around 200 BC from, Sri Lanka.Also,after World ＷａｒⅡ、Sri Lanka is the First Country who established diplomatic relations with Japan. We are connected by 2,200 years of exchange relationships. Sri Lanka, is a agricultural country traditional plantation ( Natural rubber, coconut, & Tea ), Manufacturing and agriculture-dependent economy of Wholesale and retail trade expanded、 in recent years has become the largest export item as well clothing products. The service sector also remained strong, the past five years (2004-2008) of the average GDPGrowth rate was 6.4%, 6.0% in 2008 has recorded a high growth rate. High academic standards and Exports expanded backed by high quality workforcehas been steadily　expanding foreign direct investment. This time, achieve intimacy, tourism, culture exchang, economic development etc. in Sri Lanka and these exchanges in the position of private industryAs more and more popular in order to " NIPPON-SRILANKA AFFINITY ASSOCIATION " and launching.
